Peoria, IL – A large fight involving several teenage girls outside Richwoods High School on Friday night led to multiple arrests and minor injuries, according to the Peoria Police Department.
Police said officers responded around 9:10 p.m. on January 16 to the 6300 block of North University Street following reports of a “large disturbance” near the school’s gymnasium.
Upon arrival, officers found several juveniles physically fighting. With help from School Resource Officers, police intervened, separated the individuals, and detained those believed to be involved in the altercation.
According to police, two juveniles sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.
Following the investigation, five female juveniles were arrested for Battery and Mob Action. Those arrested included two 15-year-olds, two 16-year-olds, and one 17-year-old. All were later released to their parents or legal guardians.
