Peoria Felon Arrested After Fleeing Traffic Stop, Found with Drugs, Stolen Gun

Peoria, IL – A Peoria man was arrested Thursday night following a traffic stop in the 1700 block of N. Sheridan.

According to the Peoria Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle at approximately 10:05 p.m. During the stop, a passenger fled on foot but was apprehended after a brief chase. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Clifford M. Ivory, allegedly discarded drugs, drug packaging, and a stolen handgun during the pursuit.

Ivory faces multiple charges, including Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Police, and Armed Violence. He was transported to Peoria County Jail. Authorities urge anyone with information on violent crimes to contact the Peoria Police Department.
