Pittsburgh, PA – A fast-moving cold front is bringing gusty winds, snow showers, and plummeting temperatures to the Pittsburgh area today, creating hazardous travel conditions. Gusts could reach 40 mph, with snow squalls reducing visibility during peak commuting hours.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the region could see snow accumulations of up to two inches by tonight. Winds may topple loose decorations or lightweight objects, particularly in residential areas along I-376 and the PA Turnpike. Motorists are urged to exercise caution on slippery roads and during periods of low visibility.

Friday brings partial clearing with temperatures reaching a high of 31°F, though wind chills may make it feel closer to the teens. Drivers should prepare for potential icy patches as overnight lows drop to 22°F.

The weekend offers some relief. Saturday will be partly cloudy with highs near 35°F, while Sunday turns sunny and warmer, reaching 47°F. However, another cold front is expected early next week, bringing rain showers Monday followed by mixed precipitation Tuesday.

Residents should secure outdoor decorations and monitor updates for potential weather advisories. Weather spotters are encouraged to report conditions to the NWS as needed. Stay informed and plan ahead for safe travel this weekend.
