Philadelphia, PA – A winter weather advisory is in effect for Philadelphia and surrounding areas from 4 p.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. Wednesday, with snow and icy conditions expected to impact travel.

According to the National Weather Service, the region could see 2 to 4 inches of snow, with locally higher amounts possible. The snow will begin Tuesday evening, intensifying overnight before tapering off Wednesday morning. Slippery road conditions could make the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes hazardous.

Wednesday will remain cloudy, with lingering snow showers in the afternoon. A mix of rain and sleet is expected Wednesday night, potentially leading to slick roads and reduced visibility.

By Thursday, temperatures will reach a high of 47°F, with rain likely in the morning. Friday brings sunshine but colder conditions, with highs around 36°F.

Drivers should use caution, reduce speeds, and check for road closures. For real-time traffic updates, call 511 or visit PennDOT’s website.
