Pittsburgh, PA – A winter storm is expected to bring hazardous ice and light snow to parts of Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for portions of northwest, southwest, and western Pennsylvania, including Venango, Clarion, and Indiana counties, as well as higher elevations of Westmoreland and Fayette counties. Parts of northern West Virginia, including Preston and Tucker counties, are also under the watch.

Forecasters warn of up to one inch of snow and ice accumulations up to a quarter-inch, making travel dangerous. Slippery roads could impact both the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes.

Residents should prepare for possible power outages and hazardous conditions, especially in higher elevations. Drivers are advised to use caution and monitor updates as the storm approaches.

Officials recommend keeping an emergency kit in vehicles, avoiding unnecessary travel, and staying updated with local forecasts. The National Weather Service urges residents to stay informed and plan accordingly.
