Allentown, PA – A Wind Advisory has been issued for Carbon and Monroe counties in Pennsylvania, with strong gusts expected overnight as a cold front moves through the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, winds will begin increasing late Thursday night into Friday morning. The highest gusts, reaching up to 50 mph, are expected across higher elevations in the southern Poconos.

The advisory warns of potentially hazardous conditions, including falling tree limbs and isolated power outages. Light to moderate rain is also forecast overnight, with brief periods of heavy rainfall possible. Temperatures are expected to drop to the upper 20s to low 30s.

Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects, exercise caution while driving, and prepare for possible power disruptions. Wind speeds should gradually decrease by Friday afternoon as the system moves eastward.
