Philadelphia, PA – Lingering rain and cloudy skies will keep conditions damp across the region into Friday morning, but residents from eastern Pennsylvania to southern New Jersey can expect a noticeable improvement heading into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, cool and unsettled weather will persist through Thursday evening, with scattered showers still possible Friday morning, particularly in the Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia metro, and northern Delaware. However, forecasters stress that Friday will not be a washout.
Light rain could impact early commuters, especially along I-95 and Route 1, but conditions are expected to gradually dry out by the afternoon. Localized street flooding is not anticipated, though roads may remain slick in some areas.
By Saturday, sunshine begins making a return across much of the Mid-Atlantic, along with a slow warming trend. Highs are expected to climb back into the upper 70s in cities like Trenton, Reading, and Camden by Sunday.
The weekend looks mainly dry, offering a break after several days of soggy conditions. NWS advises keeping an umbrella handy for Friday morning but says no additional alerts are expected at this time. More updates will follow if conditions change.
