Pittsburgh, PA – Residents across Pennsylvania are enjoying sunny, mild weather, but the National Weather Service (NWS) warns that rain is on the horizon. After a stretch of clear skies through the week, rainfall is expected to begin Sunday afternoon and continue into the following week. Temperatures will gradually rise, with highs reaching the mid-80s by Saturday, but the chance of measurable rain increases by Sunday evening.

According to the NWS, the long-range forecast predicts a significant shift, with probabilities of measurable rainfall increasing to over 30% starting Sunday and persisting through the middle of next week. Temperatures are also expected to climb, peaking in the high 80s by Wednesday and Thursday, August 28-29.

Currently, the 6-10 day outlook shows temperatures trending above average for most of the region, while precipitation chances remain slightly below average. This means that while the rain will bring a change from the dry spell, it may not be enough to alleviate any long-term dryness.
