Pennsylvania drivers are creeping through thick, freezing fog before sunrise, with visibility dropping to a quarter mile or less across Pittsburgh. At 31 degrees, moisture clings to bridges and overpasses, creating a light glaze on untreated surfaces. Headlights cut through the haze along I-376, I-279, and the Parkway West as the morning commute begins.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Dense Fog Advisory until 11 a.m. Visibility may fall below one-quarter mile at times, especially in river valleys and higher elevations. Patchy freezing fog could create slick spots on elevated roads and sidewalks. Calm winds and 100 percent humidity are locking the fog in place through midmorning.

Conditions improve late morning as clouds gradually thin. Highs climb to 48 degrees this afternoon, helping melt any light ice. Tonight stays mostly cloudy with lows near 36 degrees.

A noticeable warm-up builds Tuesday with sunshine and highs near 56 degrees. The bigger shift arrives Wednesday, February 18, when rain becomes likely and temperatures surge to around 60 degrees. Rain chances approach 90 percent, and breezy southwest winds may gust near 25 mph. No snow or ice is expected midweek as the February thaw takes hold.

Showers linger into Thursday before partial clearing. Looking ahead into President’s Day Week, highs remain above normal in the upper 50s to near 60. The 6–10 day outlook favors continued mild weather across western Pennsylvania, signaling spring vibes after this foggy winter start.
