Pennsylvania wakes up under a gray February sky as light snow and patchy fog brush parts of Philadelphia before sunrise. Temperatures hover near 33 to 34 degrees, cold enough for isolated slick spots on bridges and untreated roads. Early drivers along I-95 and the Schuylkill Expressway may notice damp pavement with reduced visibility in pockets of fog.

The National Weather Service reports a slight chance of rain and snow through daybreak, with northeast winds near 10 mph. Any additional accumulation remains light, but surfaces near freezing could turn briefly icy. Conditions improve gradually after sunrise as clouds thin and temperatures climb toward 40 degrees this afternoon.

Tonight stays mostly cloudy with lows near 31 degrees. That sets up another chilly start Tuesday, though highs rebound to the upper 40s under decreasing clouds. The midweek pattern shifts again by Wednesday, February 18, when rain chances increase to around 40 percent. Showers could affect the evening commute, but temperatures near 49 degrees should keep precipitation all liquid in the city. Farther north and west into Berks and Lehigh counties, a brief mix cannot be ruled out if temperatures dip closer to freezing overnight.

By Thursday and Friday, highs remain in the upper 40s with occasional rain chances. No major winter storm is expected, but February’s back-and-forth pattern continues.

Looking ahead into President’s Day Week, a gradual warming trend builds. Highs trend into the upper 40s to near 50 degrees through the weekend and into early next week, signaling a modest thaw and early spring vibes across southeastern Pennsylvania.
