Philadelphia, PA — A soggy start to the week is expected for southeastern Pennsylvania, with thunderstorms and steady rain beginning early Monday and continuing through midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms are likely Monday, with the heaviest activity expected in the late afternoon and evening. Rain will continue into Tuesday and possibly linger through Wednesday, with wind gusts reaching up to 30 mph at times. Commuters along I-95 and surrounding roadways should prepare for slippery conditions and slower travel, especially during the Monday evening rush hour.

Rainfall totals could reach between 1 and 2 inches by Tuesday night, with localized downpours possible. While no flood watches are currently in effect, drivers are advised to avoid low-lying areas and allow extra time during peak travel periods. Monday’s high will reach near 75°F before temperatures drop into the 40s overnight.

Tuesday will see partial clearing with highs in the mid-50s, though isolated morning showers could impact early travel. Winds will shift to the northwest, helping dry out the region before another round of light showers returns late Wednesday.

Looking Ahead:

  • Wednesday: Partly sunny, high near 55°F.
  • Thursday: Showers likely, warmer with a high near 77°F.
  • Friday: More showers possible, high near 70°F.
  • Saturday: A break in the rain, mostly cloudy, high near 57°F.
