Philadelphia, PA – Scattered storms may return by Thursday night in southeastern Pennsylvania, but dry, sunny conditions will dominate most of the July 4th holiday weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, Thursday will reach a high near 89°F with calm winds becoming southerly at 5 mph. A 30% chance of thunderstorms develops after 5 p.m., with activity most likely along the I-95 corridor between Philadelphia and Chester. While no severe threat is expected, localized downpours could impact evening events.

Independence Day looks ideal for outdoor plans. Friday’s forecast brings clear skies and temperatures around 88°F with light northwest winds. No rain is expected, and visibility should remain excellent for fireworks and travel.

Heading into the weekend, Saturday and Sunday remain hot and mostly dry, with highs in the upper 80s. Saturday night turns partly cloudy, but no rain is forecast until early next week.

By Tuesday, July 9, a more unsettled pattern emerges. The NWS highlights a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, followed by a 40% chance Tuesday night. Highs will stay in the mid-80s, but outdoor plans may need backup.

Residents are advised to stay weather-aware and hydrated through the extended heat and keep an eye on updated alerts early next week as rain chances increase.
