Philadelphia, PA – High winds and dropping temperatures are expected to impact Philadelphia and surrounding areas Sunday, creating potential travel hazards. Drivers on I-95 should prepare for gusts up to 25 mph, which could reduce visibility and affect road conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will start cloudy before clearing in the afternoon. Temperatures will reach a high of 40°F, with winds between 5 and 10 mph, gusting up to 25 mph. Sunday night will bring partly cloudy skies and a low of 22°F, with calmer winds.

Monday offers a reprieve with sunny skies and a high near 38°F, making it a great day for outdoor plans. Winds will remain steady at 5 to 15 mph. The warming trend continues Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs of 43°F and 48°F, respectively, and mostly sunny conditions.

Despite the midweek warm-up, overnight lows remain chilly, dipping to the mid-20s. Residents should dress warmly and ensure outdoor pets have adequate shelter. For those commuting early, black ice could form in the mornings, especially on untreated surfaces.

Plan accordingly for Sunday’s winds and keep an eye on changing conditions if traveling. Check your local forecast for updates and avoid unnecessary travel during high winds.
