Philadelphia, PA – A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Poconos today as gusty northwest winds continue to sweep across Pennsylvania. Winds will reach up to 40 mph in many areas, with some gusts in the Poconos peaking at 50 mph. The winds will persist throughout the day but are expected to diminish by tonight, offering some relief for residents.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s temperatures will range from the mid-50s to high 60s, with partly to mostly sunny skies. Winds will be sustained at 15 to 25 mph, with the potential for even stronger gusts. The advisory highlights the risk of wind-related hazards, including downed trees or power lines, particularly in higher elevations.

For areas outside of the Poconos, the winds will still create challenges for drivers and outdoor activities. If possible, avoid non-essential travel or secure loose objects in yards and outdoor spaces. Be mindful of debris on the roads, especially in rural or mountainous areas.

As the day progresses, conditions will improve, and the winds will subside by tonight, with warmer temperatures expected to kick off the new week. On Monday, highs will rise into the mid-70s, and conditions will be more pleasant with less wind. For Tuesday, expect increasing clouds and a chance of showers late in the day.
