Temperatures could reach 91°F by late afternoon, with widespread storms likely after 2 p.m. triggering a summer weather alert for travel and outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service, a slight chance of showers begins around 11 a.m., followed by stronger storms in the afternoon. Winds will stay calm, and rainfall totals could exceed a quarter-inch, with higher amounts in thunderstorms. The threat doesn’t end Saturday. Another round of evening storms is expected Saturday night, possibly intensifying after 8 p.m. Sunday offers little relief — storm chances remain high through the afternoon, with temperatures soaring to 86°F.
