Philadelphia, PA – Rain returns to the Philadelphia region starting Wednesday, bringing gusty winds and a sharp drop in temperatures that could make for a soggy and cooler midweek across eastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, a system moving into the area late Tuesday night will bring steady rain through Thursday, with daytime highs falling into the 50s and low 60s. Winds out of the east will pick up on Wednesday, with gusts reaching 25–35 mph.

Residents in Philadelphia, Camden, Trenton, and Wilmington should prepare for 1.0 to 1.5 inches of rainfall, with isolated areas possibly seeing up to 2.0 inches. Roads could become slick during commutes, especially on Routes 1, I-95, and I-295. Officials advise limiting travel during heavy rain periods and securing loose outdoor items due to wind gusts.

The rain may ease into scattered showers by Thursday evening, but cooler temperatures will linger. More updates and potential advisories could be issued as the storm progresses.
