PITTSBURGH, Pa. – September warmth will linger across western Pennsylvania, keeping Pittsburgh drivers and families under bright skies and dry roads. With highs reaching the mid-80s through Sunday, residents should plan for extended outdoor activity and take extra precautions to stay hydrated during peak heat hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Moon Township, Thursday will bring sunny skies and a high of 86, with calm winds shifting west around 5 mph. Evenings will cool comfortably, dropping into the upper 50s and low 60s, offering a break from daytime heat.

Drivers using Route 376 and the Parkway East should expect sun glare during morning and late-afternoon commutes. Light winds will minimize hazards, but commuters are urged to wear sunglasses and allow for longer braking distance when facing direct sun. Outdoor workers and school events should plan shade and water breaks, especially during the warmest part of the day.

Friday holds more of the same, with a high of 84 and clear skies into the night. Saturday will see slightly more clouds but no major disruptions, keeping weekend festivals, youth sports, and outdoor dining in full swing. By Sunday, highs will climb again to 86 before the stretch continues into early next week.

This extended run of dry, sunny weather offers excellent conditions for fall yardwork, home repairs, or travel across the region. Still, those sensitive to heat should use caution during afternoon hours.

Forecast confidence remains high, with clear skies dominating until at least Tuesday. No advisories are in effect, but updates will follow if conditions change.
