PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Wet pavement and slowdowns are expected across southeastern Pennsylvania Saturday as showers develop and linger into the evening. Drivers along I-95 and the Schuylkill Expressway should prepare for slick travel conditions and reduced visibility through late Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, rain chances rise sharply after 5 p.m., with heavier showers possible between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. While rainfall totals will stay under a quarter inch, even light amounts could cause ponding on busy roadways. Motorists are urged to allow extra time and avoid sudden braking on wet surfaces.

Conditions improve quickly on Sunday as skies turn mostly sunny with highs near 80. Monday continues the trend with partly sunny skies, holding in the low 80s before a gradual cooldown. Clouds increase again Monday night, but no widespread rain is expected.

By Tuesday, highs dip into the upper 70s with more cloud cover, signaling the arrival of cooler fall air. Wednesday looks crisp and bright with sunshine dominating as October begins, bringing highs near 71 and overnight lows in the lower 50s.

The weekend showers mark the last unsettled stretch before a string of calmer, drier days settles in. Another update will be issued if rainfall amounts increase or new advisories are posted.
