State College, Pennsylvania – Early risers across Central Pennsylvania could wake up to frost on windshields and frozen garden beds Tuesday morning. A Frost Advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. Tuesday, with temperatures expected to dip as low as 35°F in sheltered areas from Cambria to Tioga counties.

According to the National Weather Service in State College, sensitive vegetation could be damaged if left uncovered overnight. The advisory spans Northern Centre, Clinton, Southern Lycoming, and Sullivan Counties, among others. Motorists along Route 322 and nearby valley roads should anticipate patchy frost and reduced visibility around dawn.

While Monday night stays clear with calm winds, lows will hover near 41°F in State College and the surrounding area. Tuesday brings a rebound into the mid-70s under mostly sunny skies, signaling a shift toward more seasonable conditions. Still, residents should cover plants and disconnect hoses ahead of any early morning freeze risks.

Warming trends will continue through the week, with highs reaching the low 80s by Thursday, making this brief cold snap a short-lived taste of fall. Valley regions remain the most vulnerable to cold air pooling, so rural homeowners are encouraged to monitor conditions closely each morning through midweek.

Another light frost is possible early Wednesday. No additional advisories have been issued yet, but residents should stay tuned for updates.
