State College, PA – A bitter winter chill will grip State College this weekend, bringing snow flurries, icy wind chills, and potentially hazardous road conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday’s high will only reach 26°F, with gusty northwest winds up to 29 mph making it feel much colder. Light snow is expected throughout the day, reducing visibility for drivers. By Friday night, temperatures will plummet to 15°F under partly cloudy skies, increasing the risk of black ice on roads.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, but the cold remains, with a high of just 35°F. Winds will calm slightly, though temperatures will still feel below freezing. Sunday sees a small warm-up, reaching 37°F, but mostly cloudy skies will return.

The start of next week brings relief, as Monday’s high climbs to 45°F. However, increased cloud cover signals a shift in weather patterns. By Tuesday, rain is possible, with a high of 46°F.

Drivers should remain cautious on untreated roads, especially in shaded areas where ice may linger. Residents are advised to bundle up, limit prolonged outdoor exposure, and prepare for changing conditions into next week.
