Pittsburgh, PA – Western Pennsylvania residents can expect an early October warm-up as temperatures rise near 80°F heading into Friday, October 3. Clear skies, light winds, and crisp fall mornings will shape the region’s first full October weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, patchy fog may form early Friday morning before quickly burning off. By the afternoon, mostly sunny skies will return, making conditions ideal for commuters, outdoor workers, and early Halloween decorators. Drivers are urged to allow extra time on morning routes like I-376 and Route 28 if fog reduces visibility.

Thursday’s outlook calls for highs near 75°F with southeast winds around 7 mph. Friday will see a high near 78°F with lighter winds. Lows remain in the upper 40s, keeping evenings cool and comfortable for fall activities.

Saturday, October 4, looks even warmer, with sunshine boosting afternoon highs to 80°F. Clear skies will stretch into Sunday, where the high is expected to reach 81°F, marking one of the warmest early October weekends in recent memory.

Looking ahead, Monday’s forecast climbs to 83°F before a chance of showers arrives Tuesday, October 7. Even then, most of the week stays dry with only a 30% chance of rain.

Residents planning pumpkin patch visits, football tailgates, or home projects should enjoy several days of steady sunshine. Keep in mind, cooler nights may still bring light jackets and patchy fog.
