PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Streets along the Delaware River are bracing for another day of nuisance flooding as a Coastal Flood Advisory stays in effect through Monday evening. One foot of tidal inundation is possible across low-lying roads near the riverfront, with minor travel disruptions expected for early commuters heading back after the Columbus Day holiday.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, the advisory covers Philadelphia, Delaware County, and portions of Camden, Gloucester, and Burlington Counties from 2 p.m. Sunday through 11 p.m. Monday. Persistent northeast winds up to 25 mph are pushing tides well above normal, threatening portions of I-95, Columbus Boulevard, and access routes near Penn’s Landing. Drivers should avoid parking near tidal zones and never attempt to cross flooded roads.

Tides along the Delaware River at both Philadelphia and Burlington are running one to two feet above normal. Minor flooding is expected around high tide, especially during the late morning and early evening cycles. Residents in riverfront neighborhoods are urged to move vehicles to higher ground and secure outdoor items.

Showers will taper Monday night, with sunshine and warmer weather returning by Tuesday. Cooler, drier air builds midweek, setting up a crisp stretch ideal for fall leaf viewing later this week.
