State College, PA – Dry and breezy conditions will continue across central Pennsylvania on Tuesday, raising concerns about an elevated wildfire risk. Winds between 20 and 30 mph, combined with low humidity, could contribute to fire spread, especially in grassy and wooded areas.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), unseasonably warm temperatures and gusty winds from the southwest will persist through Tuesday. Residents should avoid outdoor burning and be cautious with equipment that could spark fires. The highest risk areas include Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, and Centre counties, with alerts extending to Lancaster and York.

Temperatures will remain mild, with a high of 65°F in State College on Tuesday before cooling slightly to 51°F on Wednesday. Winds will be strongest in the afternoon before weakening overnight. By midweek, partly sunny skies will continue, with a slight chance of showers Wednesday night.

Thursday and Friday will bring partly sunny conditions with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. A stronger storm system could arrive by Saturday, bringing widespread rain and a higher chance of precipitation. Showers are expected to continue into Sunday, with temperatures staying in the mid-60s.

Drivers along major roadways like I-99 and I-80 should be mindful of crosswinds and changing conditions. With wildfire concerns in place, residents are urged to stay updated on local alerts and use caution with any outdoor activities involving open flames.
