Philadelphia, PA – Drivers in Pennsylvania woke to dense fog Friday morning, with visibility dropping below a quarter-mile in some areas. The National Weather Service warns that while fog is lifting, a wintry mix of snow and freezing rain could make roads hazardous Saturday night into Sunday.
According to the NWS, Saturday will bring a chance of snow and sleet between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., followed by rain. Freezing rain is expected overnight, with temperatures dipping to the low 20s. Ice accumulation could create treacherous driving conditions, especially on major routes like I-76 and I-95.
Sunday will start with rain before clearing in the afternoon, with highs reaching the upper 30s. Monday will bring partly sunny skies, but another round of snow and rain is possible Tuesday.
Drivers should exercise caution during the fog Friday morning and prepare for icy roads Saturday night. Use low-beam headlights in fog, and allow extra stopping distance in snowy or icy conditions. Stay updated with local weather alerts and avoid unnecessary travel if road conditions deteriorate.
