Pittsburgh, Pa. – Morning drivers across western Pennsylvania could face dense fog along I-376 and other major roadways until 9 a.m. Monday. The reduced visibility creates dangerous travel conditions, and officials urge commuters to slow down and use headlights.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, widespread fog will clear late this morning before clouds build through the afternoon. Temperatures climb to 83 degrees, unusually warm for late September. Calm winds offer little relief, keeping conditions muggy across Allegheny and surrounding counties.

By Tuesday, skies turn partly sunny with highs again near 83. Light northeast breezes will return, offering a slightly drier feel by evening. Tuesday night cools into the low 50s, giving the region its first real taste of autumn air.

The first day of October arrives Wednesday with much cooler and clearer conditions. Sunshine dominates, and highs settle into the mid-70s — a sharp drop from the start of the week. Nights trend crisp, falling into the 40s by midweek.

The stretch of clear, dry weather will continue into Thursday and Friday, with highs in the low-70s and lows in the upper 40s. Families planning outdoor activities for the first weekend of October can expect mostly sunny skies and highs near 80.

Drivers should remain alert for lingering morning fog Monday and Tuesday, but the rest of the week looks calm and clear. Updates from the National Weather Service will continue as fall settles into the region.
