Philadelphia, PA – Drivers across southeastern Pennsylvania are waking up to dense fog and scattered showers that could snarl Friday morning travel on I-95 and major roadways through at least 11 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. Friday, with visibility reduced to a quarter-mile or less in some areas. Showers and a few thunderstorms will follow through the afternoon, especially between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Expect brief downpours and gusts, with high temperatures climbing to around 81°F.

Philadelphia, Allentown, and Camden should prepare for rapidly changing driving conditions, especially on bridges and interstates. Motorists are urged to slow down, use low beams, and delay travel when possible. Rainfall totals could exceed a quarter inch by evening, with isolated thunderstorm cells increasing the chance of slick roads and poor drainage flooding.

Rain chances diminish briefly Friday night but return Saturday morning. Thunderstorms are likely again between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, tapering off by evening. Expect daytime highs in the mid-80s with southwest winds near 10 mph.

Sunday offers a brief spring reprieve with sunny skies and highs near 75°F before another rainy pattern resumes Monday night into midweek. Tuesday and Wednesday both carry a 50–70% chance of rain and cooler temps in the 60s.

Looking ahead, Philadelphia can expect:

  • Saturday: Showers, 84°F
  • Sunday: Sunny, 75°F
  • Monday: Sunny, 74°F
  • Tuesday: Showers likely, 72°F
  • Wednesday: Rain chance continues, high near 70°F
