State College, Pennsylvania – Snow will continue to spread across the central Susquehanna Valley overnight, creating slick roads and hazardous travel through late Monday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in State College, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. Monday for Columbia, Montour and Northumberland counties. Total snowfall between 3 and 6 inches is expected, with wind gusts up to 35 mph that may cause areas of blowing snow and reduced visibility.
Communities including Bloomsburg, Danville, Sunbury, Shamokin and Berwick could see snow-covered roads by daybreak Monday. Major routes such as Interstate 80, Route 11 and Route 54 may become slick, especially on untreated secondary roads and bridges. Gusty winds across open stretches could drift snow back onto cleared pavement.
The advisory highlights impacts to the Monday morning commute, when conditions may be most hazardous. Drivers should slow down, allow extra stopping distance and check 511PA for real-time road updates before heading out.
Snow tapers late Monday morning into early afternoon, but slick spots may linger beyond the advisory’s expiration at 1 p.m. Monday as temperatures remain near freezing.
