State College, Pennsylvania – Snow will continue to blanket north-central Pennsylvania through late Monday morning, creating slick roads and reduced visibility ahead of the Monday commute.
According to the National Weather Service in State College, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. Monday for McKean, Potter, Elk, Cameron, Tioga and Lycoming counties. Total snowfall between 3 and 5 inches is expected, with wind gusts up to 35 mph that could cause areas of blowing and drifting snow.
Communities including Bradford, Coudersport, St. Marys, Emporium, Wellsboro and Williamsport may see snow-covered roads overnight into Monday. Routes such as U.S. 15, U.S. 6 and stretches of I-99 could become slick, especially on untreated secondary roads and elevated surfaces. Gusty winds across open terrain may reduce visibility during heavier bursts.
The advisory highlights potential impacts to the Monday morning commute, when untreated pavement may remain snow covered. Drivers should slow down, increase following distance and check 511PA for the latest road conditions before heading out.
Snow gradually tapers late Monday morning, but patchy slick spots may linger beyond the advisory’s expiration at 1 p.m. Monday.
