Philadelphia, PA – A rapid warm-up is underway across the Mid-Atlantic, with temperatures climbing nearly 20 degrees in just two days and pushing close to 80°F inland by Tuesday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, highs will reach 47 to 57 degrees Sunday under mostly sunny skies before a noticeable jump Monday into the mid-50s to near 70 degrees. By Tuesday, inland areas could peak between 62 and 79 degrees, marking the warmest stretch so far this season.
The warming trend will be most noticeable away from the coast. Cities like Philadelphia, Trenton, and Wilmington will feel springlike warmth by Tuesday afternoon, while coastal communities in southern New Jersey and Delaware remain significantly cooler due to onshore winds off the Atlantic.
A few showers could develop late Monday night into early Tuesday, but widespread rain is not expected to disrupt the warming trend. Southwest winds will also increase slightly, helping boost daytime temperatures.
Residents should plan for changing conditions each day, with cool mornings giving way to much warmer afternoons. The warm stretch continues through Tuesday before additional changes arrive later in the week.
