Edinboro, Pennsylvania – Snow will intensify across southern Erie County after 10 p.m. Sunday as lake-enhanced bands develop, setting up slick roads before the Monday morning commute. Periods of moderate to heavy snowfall are expected overnight, with the heaviest bursts targeting early Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 10 p.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Tuesday for southern Erie County, including Edinboro, Union City and Corry. Total snowfall between 6 and 10 inches is expected, with winds gusting up to 30 mph on Monday.
Across northwest Pennsylvania, snow-covered stretches of Route 6, Route 19 and Interstate 79 may become difficult to navigate as heavier bands persist through Monday. Reduced visibility and accumulating snow could create hazardous driving conditions during both the Monday morning and evening commutes.
The most intense snowfall is expected Monday morning as lake-effect bands organize and linger. Officials urge residents to delay unnecessary travel, keep emergency supplies in vehicles and check 511PA for updated road conditions.
Snow showers will gradually taper late Monday night, but slick spots may linger into early Tuesday morning. The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday, and additional advisories could be issued if heavier bands persist longer than expected.
