PITTSBURGH, PA – Western Pennsylvania’s first day of spring is bringing a mix of showers, wind, and a cooldown heading into the weekend. A rainy Thursday will give way to drier and cooler conditions Friday before another round of showers this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, showers will move through the Pittsburgh area Thursday, with gusty southwest winds reaching up to 28 mph. Temperatures will drop throughout the day, falling from the upper 50s in the morning to around 30°F overnight.

Friday will bring drier, sunnier conditions, but temperatures will remain cool, with a high of just 53°F. Winds will shift westward at 8 to 10 mph, keeping conditions breezy.

The weekend forecast includes another round of showers, particularly on Saturday morning. While Pittsburgh will see occasional breaks of sunshine, temperatures will hover in the low-to-mid 50s during the day and drop into the 20s and 40s at night.

Sunday offers a brief warm-up, with a high of 55°F, but another system will bring rain late in the evening. Showers will persist into Monday morning before clearing out.

Residents should prepare for changing conditions, especially if traveling along major roadways like I-376 or I-79. Drivers should watch for wet roads Thursday and breezy conditions Friday.

By early next week, temperatures will remain mild, with mostly sunny skies expected Tuesday and Wednesday.
