PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – A stretch of mild weather across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and northern Maryland will give way to scattered showers and possible storms late Thursday into Friday, just as cooler air prepares to settle in for the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, partly cloudy skies will dominate through midweek with highs ranging from the low 70s to near 80 degrees. Temperatures will climb slightly on Thursday, but the arrival of moisture overnight could bring downpours and a few rumbles of thunder. Forecasters say the system should move quickly enough to avoid a complete washout, though roads could be slick during Friday’s commute.

In Philadelphia, highs are expected to reach 76–85 degrees Thursday with overnight lows in the 50s. South Jersey towns such as Atlantic City and Vineland could see similar conditions, while Wilmington, Delaware, may encounter scattered showers by late Thursday night. Beachgoers are advised to watch for a moderate risk of rip currents along the Jersey Shore through Wednesday.

The unsettled weather should clear by the weekend, when highs are projected to fall back into the low 70s, ushering in a more comfortable stretch. Additional advisories could be issued if storms intensify late week.
