Philadelphia, PA – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT Wednesday for Eastern Pennsylvania. Residents are advised to prepare for potentially damaging winds and isolated large hail.
According to the NWS Storm Prediction Center, strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to intensify this afternoon, posing significant risks. Damaging wind gusts of up to 70 mph and hail up to 1 inch in diameter are likely in the watch area, which extends approximately 85 miles east and west of a line from Wilmington, DE to Concord, NH.
