Warren, Pa. – Damaging winds and quarter-size hail are threatening parts of Warren County early Friday as a severe thunderstorm moves rapidly across northern Pennsylvania.
According to the National Weather Service in State College, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for northern Warren County until 5:45 a.m. The storm was located over Columbus at 4:56 a.m., moving east at 40 mph with radar-indicated wind gusts up to 60 mph and potential hail up to one inch in diameter.
Residents in Warren, Youngsville, Sugar Grove, and surrounding communities, including Kinzua Dam and Bear Lake, should stay indoors and avoid windows during the storm. High winds may cause tree damage and power outages, while hail could dent vehicles and damage roofs and siding.
