Mount Holly, NJ – A winter storm system is expected to bring a mix of snow, sleet, and rain to the Mid-Atlantic region on Tuesday, December 2, according to the National Weather Service in Philadelphia/Mount Holly.

The storm will move in early Tuesday morning, bringing snowfall rates up to one inch per hour at times across southern Poconos and northwest New Jersey, where 4 to 8 inches of accumulation are possible. Farther south, including central and northern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, snowfall totals of 1 to 4 inches are expected before a changeover to rain by Tuesday afternoon.

Along the I-95 corridor, including Philadelphia, Trenton, and Wilmington, any snow will quickly change to rain by mid-morning, limiting accumulation to around an inch or less.

In addition, gale-force winds are expected over Delaware Bay and the coastal waters of New Jersey and Delaware, with gusts of 20–30 knots and seas of 5–8 feet, posing hazards to small craft.

Forecasters note uncertainty remains in the exact track of the storm, which could affect snowfall totals and timing.
