Mount Holly, NJ – A strong cold front is bringing much cooler and drier conditions across eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware tonight, according to the US National Weather Service in Mount Holly.

After a mild afternoon with highs in the upper 60s to near 70, temperatures are expected to fall quickly overnight. Lows by dawn Thursday will range from the upper 30s in the Poconos and northwest New Jersey to the mid-40s around Philadelphia and southern Delaware. Coastal areas such as Cape May and Bethany Beach will remain slightly warmer, in the upper 40s to low 50s.

Forecasters say a northwest breeze will make it feel even cooler, with wind chills dipping into the 30s across much of the region by early morning. The cold, dry air mass will continue into Thursday, keeping highs in the upper 50s to low 60s with sunny skies.

Residents should prepare for a chilly morning commute and consider bringing sensitive plants indoors as temperatures approach early-season frost levels in inland valleys.
