Philadelphia, PA – A widespread freeze is expected to affect much of the region tonight, with temperatures plunging to the mid-20s to near 30°F. Wind chills could drop to around 20°F by Wednesday morning, causing potential hazards for residents, particularly on the roads. The winds will lessen by late evening, but a northwest breeze will continue to make the air feel colder overnight.

According to the National Weather Service, areas like Philadelphia, Wilmington, and Dover are expected to experience lows of 28°F, while coastal regions such as Cape May and Bethany Beach will see temperatures near 34°F. The frigid conditions are also likely to bring a widespread freeze, potentially impacting agriculture and other outdoor activities.

While temperatures will rise on Wednesday, reaching highs near 50°F, the region can expect much less wind, with westerly gusts of 10-15 mph. Residents are advised to prepare for cold conditions tonight and be cautious of the icy roads and conditions early tomorrow morning.
