Pennsylvania – Wet pavement shines under a gray sky this morning as light snow mixes with rain across Philadelphia, coating colder surfaces with a thin glaze. Temperatures hover near 33 degrees, just cold enough for slush to cling to sidewalks and untreated roads. Drivers along I-95, the Schuylkill Expressway, and bridges over the Delaware River should slow down through mid-morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. for Philadelphia and surrounding counties in Pennsylvania and nearby Camden and Gloucester counties in New Jersey. Snow totals stay under one inch, but a light glaze of ice may form in spots. That thin coating can trigger spinouts, especially on ramps and elevated roadways.

Rain becomes steadier by late morning as temperatures climb toward 43 degrees. Patchy fog may reduce visibility for a time. Showers linger into Wednesday with highs reaching 53 degrees. By Thursday, periods of rain continue and readings hold in the lower 50s.

The bigger shift comes late week. Friday turns mostly cloudy with highs near 56. Weekend temperatures surge into the 60s and near 70 by Sunday. That warmth may melt lingering snow piles fast, but remember the flash-freeze risk after sunset if readings dip.

Clocks spring ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8. We gain evening light and nearly 90 extra minutes of daylight by month’s end.

Early signals for the 6–10 day outlook favor above-normal temperatures into next week. Spring warmth builds.
