Philadelphia, PA – Light snow or flurries are ending early this morning across the Philadelphia region and much of the Delaware Valley, followed by decreasing clouds and continued cold conditions through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.

Forecasters say any lingering flurries will taper off shortly after daybreak Friday, with skies gradually clearing as the day progresses. High temperatures today are expected to range from the mid-20s to upper 30s across the region, keeping conditions firmly below seasonal averages.

Cold weather is expected to persist into Saturday. Highs will range from the mid-20s to mid-30s, with increasing clouds during the day. A weather system passing to the south Saturday night is forecast to mostly miss the area, though there remains a low chance, around 20 percent, for light snow overnight. Any snow that does occur would be brief and light, with minimal accumulation expected.

Sunday will bring a modest improvement in conditions, with skies becoming partly to mostly sunny. High temperatures are forecast to climb slightly, reaching the upper 20s to upper 30s. West-northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph may add a chill to the air, especially during the morning hours.

The National Weather Service emphasized that no significant winter storm impacts are anticipated this weekend. However, cold overnight temperatures could lead to icy patches on untreated roads and sidewalks, particularly during early morning travel.

Residents with weekend travel plans should remain aware of changing conditions Saturday night, though confidence is increasing that the region will avoid more widespread snowfall.

Commuters, students, and outdoor workers may notice the coldest conditions during early morning hours through the weekend before any meaningful moderation arrives early next week.
