Philadelphia, PA – A cold and calm night is expected across the region with temperatures falling into the low to mid-20s inland and near freezing along the coast, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ.
Forecasters warn that patchy freezing fog could develop late tonight into early Sunday morning, particularly in low-lying and sheltered areas. This may result in slick spots on bridges, overpasses, and untreated roads, especially before sunrise.
Overnight lows are expected to range from 21°F in Sussex and Allentown to 27°F in Philadelphia and 32°F near Cape May. Skies will clear overnight, allowing for radiational cooling and light winds.
Sunday will bring mostly sunny skies and a rebound in temperatures, with highs reaching the upper 30s to low 40s across much of eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and northern Delaware.
Residents are advised to use caution if driving early Sunday morning and to watch for areas of reduced visibility due to fog. Conditions should improve by mid-morning as temperatures climb above freezing.
