
PITTSBURGH – Fall has arrived in Pittsburgh, bringing festivals, family-friendly events, fall-themed activities, celebrations, and more.
Northside Farmers Market & Beer Garden
A farmers market and beer garden will take place Friday, Sept. 26, at Allegheny Commons Park on the North Side from 4 to 7 p.m. A guided bird tour led by Pittsburgh Park Rangers and a Pennsylvania Master Naturalist runs from 5 to 6 p.m.
Shoppers can buy freshly harvested produce, pay with SNAP benefits through Just Harvest’s Fresh Access program, and purchase self care products from Wild Rosemary, a certified herbalist.
“In order to end poverty and hunger in America, we must stop skewing our public policies to help the elite,” Just Harvest states. “We work to strengthen the programs that protect basic living standards and support the needs of working families.”
Just Harvest will host a table at the farmers market to share information on how attendees can get involved or support food security efforts in Allegheny County.
Celebrate Wildwood Festival
Celebrate Wildwood will be held Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wildwood Park in Dauphin County. The free event features live music, pumpkin painting, and guided walks which are accessible for all participants.
Guided walks, scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., highlight native plants, birds, and conservation efforts. B & L Dogz will provide food and drinks during the event.
Oktoberfest
Hofbräuhaus Pittsburgh begins its final week of Oktoberfest celebrations Friday, Sept 26, at 4 p.m. Eleventh Hour Brewing Co. kicks off its second week of festivities at 5 p.m. the same day. Burghers Brewing in Millvale will start celebrations Saturday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. Select Start, a local comedy group, and Helltown Brewing will host an Oktoberfest-themed comedy night Friday at 9 p.m.
Traditional beer, snacks, live music, and competitions will be part of Oktoberfest events across the city.
Fall Festivals
Three additional fall festivals open Saturday, Sept 27: the Ben Avon Fall Festival on Church Avenue, the Hay Day festival in South Park, and the Pittsburgh Fall Wine Festival in Downtown.
The Ben Avon Fall Festival runs from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. and features local vendors selling books, merchandise, with proceeds funding community grants and scholarships.The Boy Scouts, churches, affinity groups, and non-profit organizations will also have tables with information.
The Pittsburgh Fall Wine Festival takes place in Market Square from noon to 10 p.m. and includes live music and drinks.
Hay Day at South Park goes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities include puppet shows, inflatables, face painting, and hay rides. A sensory-friendly play area will also be available.
