Pittsburgh, PA – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Pennsylvania and West Virginia ridges until 9 a.m. Sunday due to lingering icy conditions. While the worst icing has passed, forecasters warn that freezing drizzle could create slick spots on roads and sidewalks.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, cold temperatures will keep surfaces icy through the morning. Officials urge drivers to reduce speed, avoid cruise control, and leave extra space between vehicles.

Pittsburgh’s current temperature sits at 31°F with overcast skies and a northwest wind at 24 mph. Conditions will remain mostly cloudy Sunday, with highs reaching 36°F. More snow is expected Tuesday, increasing travel risks.

Motorists should use caution, especially on bridges and untreated roads. PennDOT crews continue treating highways, but black ice remains a threat. Travelers should check local advisories before heading out.
