Mount Holly, NJ – Residents in Carbon and Monroe Counties are preparing for a dangerously cold night as wind chill temperatures are forecast to drop to 12 below zero. The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory from 8 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday.
According to the advisory, the extreme cold could pose a risk of hypothermia for those who are not adequately protected. Authorities recommend wearing warm clothing, including hats and gloves, and limiting time spent outdoors during the advisory period.
The affected areas include Stroudsburg, Jim Thorpe, and surrounding communities. Local officials are urging residents to take precautions and check on vulnerable individuals, such as the elderly and those without adequate heating.
The advisory will remain in effect through Sunday morning. Stay updated on changing conditions and prioritize safety during this cold spell.
