State College, PA – Central Pennsylvania residents should bundle up as bitter cold temperatures continue through Wednesday morning, with wind chills expected to reach as low as -15°F. A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday, urging residents to take precautions against frostbite and hypothermia.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in State College, overnight lows will dip to 7°F, with wind gusts up to 25 mph making conditions even colder. Tuesday will bring sunshine but little relief, with highs reaching only 19°F and wind chills as low as -10°F.
Looking ahead, Wednesday morning will be another frigid start, with lows around 6°F before temperatures climb slightly to a high of 23°F under mostly sunny skies. A gradual warm-up begins Thursday, but a chance of snow showers could impact travel in the area.
By Friday, temperatures are expected to rise into the upper 20s, with a warming trend continuing into the weekend. Residents are advised to dress in layers, cover exposed skin, and take caution while traveling.
