State College, PA – A bitter cold snap will grip central Pennsylvania this week, bringing subzero wind chills, strong winds, and chances of snow. Residents should prepare for hazardous conditions, especially during overnight hours when temperatures will plunge into the single digits.

According to the National Weather Service, a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. today, with gusts up to 50 mph. These strong winds may cause power outages and downed tree limbs. A winter storm is also possible by midweek, bringing accumulating snowfall Wednesday night into Thursday.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny, but highs will only reach 23°F with wind chills near -5°F. Wednesday brings a slight chance of afternoon snow showers, with increased chances overnight as a system moves through. Thursday could see significant snowfall, with 50% precipitation odds and highs near 23°F.

Friday and Saturday will remain cold, with highs in the low 30s and overnight lows dipping into the teens. With arctic air gripping the region, residents should prepare for dangerous wind chills and possible travel disruptions midweek.
