Philadelphia, PA – Lows across eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and northern Delaware will hover around 50°F tonight, offering a mild lead-in to a wet and stormy weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, a period of showers and thunderstorms is expected to begin late Friday evening and continue into Saturday morning, with rain chances climbing as high as 90% in some areas. A secondary wave of scattered storms could develop Saturday afternoon as a cold front moves through the region.
Philadelphia, Trenton, and Wilmington will all dip to the low 50s overnight under calm conditions and scattered clouds. Atlantic City and Long Branch may bottom out around 51°F and 53°F, respectively, while Vineland will be among the coolest spots at 48°F. The Friday daytime hours are expected to stay dry and warm, with highs climbing into the upper 70s or even near 80°F under increasing cloud cover.
Travelers should remain alert for slick roads and possible localized flooding Friday night and early Saturday. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, keep mobile devices charged, and plan indoor alternatives for Saturday morning.
More showers are likely, but NWS forecasters emphasize this won’t be a total washout. Updated advisories may be issued Friday afternoon as conditions evolve.
