Philadelphia, Pa. – Cooler air is settling in across the Mid-Atlantic tonight, with overnight lows expected to dip into the 40s and 50s for much of Pennsylvania and New Jersey by early Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, most of the region will see minimum temperatures between 51°F and 55°F, with colder pockets in the Pocono Mountains and northwest New Jersey likely falling into the mid to upper 40s. Cities like Hazleton, West Milford, and Monticello are among the coolest spots.
In Philadelphia and Trenton, residents can expect lows in the low 50s, while southern areas such as Dover and Atlantic City will hold slightly warmer in the upper 50s to near 60°F. Those in rural or elevated areas may feel the chill more sharply, especially during early morning hours.
While this drop in temperature isn’t unusual for mid-May, residents planning early commutes or outdoor activities should consider dressing in layers. No freeze or frost concerns are expected, but gardeners in cooler inland zones may want to monitor overnight readings.
Temperatures will rebound during the day Monday, but cooler-than-average nights could persist into midweek.
