Philadelphia, PA – A brisk April chill continues to grip Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware today, with cooler-than-average temperatures and strong winds expected to persist through Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, daytime highs will remain 10 degrees below mid-April norms, with most locations only reaching the low to mid-50s. Wind gusts are forecast to peak between 35 and 40 mph across eastern Pennsylvania, central and southern New Jersey, and parts of northern Delaware.
Philadelphia, Trenton, and Wilmington will all feel the impact of these gusty conditions, which could cause minor travel disruptions, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Areas like Mount Pocono and Morristown will struggle to reach 50°F, with added wind chill making it feel even cooler.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects, limit prolonged exposure to the wind, and check on local travel conditions. While today and Wednesday will remain cool and breezy, a warming trend is expected to begin Thursday, with temperatures returning closer to seasonal averages by the weekend.
This weather event comes as a reminder of the variability of spring in the Mid-Atlantic, where strong coastal systems can still bring winter-like chill well into April.
