Pendleton, Ore. – Showers linger into Saturday morning across Umatilla County, but a stretch of warm, dry weather is right behind it. Residents can expect skies to clear Sunday with highs climbing steadily into the upper 80s by midweek.
According to the National Weather Service in Pendleton, scattered showers will pass through early Saturday, with the heaviest rain expected before 11 a.m. A light southwest breeze of 5 to 7 mph will help push the system out by afternoon. Rainfall totals should stay light, generally under a quarter-inch.
Saturday night brings calmer conditions with lows near 56 degrees. By Sunday, skies will brighten with temperatures reaching 84. Light winds will turn northwest later in the day.
Travelers along I-84 and U.S. 395 may want to plan around wet roads Saturday morning, but no flooding concerns are anticipated. By Monday, Pendleton and nearby Hermiston will see highs in the mid-80s under full sun, rising near 88 by Tuesday.
Clear, mild nights will continue through next week, keeping mornings comfortable even as daytime heat builds. The National Weather Service says the dry pattern should hold through at least Friday.
