Pendleton, Oregon Weather Alert Now: 80% Rain Today, Snow Mix Possible by President’s Day Monday

Oregon’s high desert air feels damp and raw this morning, with low clouds pressing over Pendleton and temperatures hovering near 41 degrees. Light rain is developing in spots, and roads along I-84 are beginning to glisten.

According to the National Weather Service in Pendleton, rain chances increase through the day with highs near 47 degrees. Periods of rain become more widespread tonight, with precipitation chances around 80 percent and overnight lows in the mid-30s. Showers taper briefly Sunday before another push arrives late.

By President’s Day Monday, rain is likely again with highs near 47 degrees. Colder air slides in Monday night, dropping temperatures to around 31 degrees. Forecasters note a rain-to-snow mix is possible after midnight, though little or no accumulation is expected in town. Snow levels hover near 2,200 feet Tuesday before lowering again Tuesday night.

Even without heavy snow, brief mixes can create slick patches on bridges and elevated ramps. Watch for icy spots along I-84, especially east of town toward the Blue Mountains. Wet pavement can refreeze quickly if temperatures slip below freezing late at night.

Showers continue into Tuesday with highs in the mid-40s and additional rain-snow chances. By midweek, unsettled conditions linger with snow levels fluctuating near 1,400 feet.

Looking ahead, a gradual warming trend builds later next week. President’s Day Week may finish milder, with signs of early spring vibes returning to eastern Oregon.
